sighs..

Assalamualaikum my dear respected brothers and sisters in Islam. Ahem, moving away from the tensions of the previous post, I was in need of some seriously light hearted conversation. So, with this in mind, I was just wondering what you guys were up to on this oh so lovely day. What do you guys like to do outside the realm of Islamic village? Dare I ask there is a realm outside the Islamic Village for you guys? General interests? I thought I'd start on some of the brand new books I purchased, starting with The Road to Mecca and Muslims in Spain, both were recommended by some of our readers on Islamic Village. Anyways, hope to hear from you all, eager to find some more Shakespearean 'nutters' such as myself, maybe I fit into that category all by myself!? sigh, ah well.

Peace out.

Bananas on the barbecue taste fantastic, wait till the skin goes black, scoop out the banana in a bowl and add ice cream. Comes from the Caribbean i think.

i went to the bazaar on saturday, alhamdulillah there was lots to do for kids then the usual bazaars, however, there was a low turn out and a lot of food left over was distributed else where.

Assalamualaikum

Seafood makes a nice alternative to flipping slabs of meat, along with some crunchy char-grilled vegetables. Though I'd settle for kebabs on sticks (skewers) any day. No doubt 'Nemo' would also taste good on a barbie.

You shared that with so much enthusiasm. Dolphins are cool, I’m sure they must have been pretty amazing to see! Did you catch a fish or two?

I suspect most Villagers do their shopping at Aldi, Morrissons or Lidl - and not at the Selfridges food counter....

The salmon steak at Morrissons is good quality and fresh. All they need now is someone with a smile behind the counter :P

I love sushi. However about 90% of sushi out there is prepared using japanese rice wine (saki) so it is safer to avoid altogether. Now a halal japanese restaurant is a niche sector that I dont believe has been exploited yet.
